About these terms
These terms cover the Damson Kitchen app and this website. They are provided by an independent developer based in the United Kingdom, trading as Damson Kitchen. By using the app you agree to them; if you don't, please don't use it. Our Privacy Policy explains the (very little) personal data involved.
Using the app
The app is free, for your own personal use. Everything you put in it is yours, and it stays on your phone — we never receive it.
Keep a backup
Because your recipes exist only on your phone, we cannot recover them if the phone is lost, broken or reset, or if you uninstall the app. Use Settings → Data & Backup → Export My Data now and then, and keep the file somewhere other than the phone.
Other people's recipes
Recipes you import belong to whoever wrote them. The app keeps the text and a link back to the original, never the original photos, and sends that link rather than the text when you share an imported recipe. Please use imported recipes for your own cooking, and follow the terms of the sites you import from.
Backup files are for your own use
Export exists so you can keep and move your own library. Please don't sell or commercially distribute Damson Kitchen backup files or recipe collections made from them, or use the Damson Kitchen name to promote them. This doesn't stop you keeping as many copies of your own library as you like, or sending a recipe to someone with the app's share button.
The app as it is
We work to keep Damson Kitchen reliable, but it is provided as it is, and we may change it or stop developing it. Recipes and amounts come from you and from the pages you import, so check them — especially for allergies and dietary needs.
Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law where you live, or any liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
The law that applies
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protections of your own country's consumer law, and you can bring a claim in your own courts. If something goes wrong, please email us first — most things can be sorted out quickly.
Changes and contact
If these terms change, the new version will be posted here with a new date. They are also available in Spanish; if the two differ, the English version applies, without affecting your consumer rights. Questions: hello@damsonkitchen.com.
